Do a role play with some of your friends about gender differences in our society, using typical scenes we all know well.

Step 1:
Choose one of the stories below.
Step 2:
Take 10 minutes to prepare and test out your role play.
Step 3:
If you are with a group of friends, show each other your role play.
Step 4:
Discuss what happened in the role plays.

Tip:
If you are with a mixed group, all the better. Encourage each other to play the role of the opposite gender.

Story 1.
A doctor and a nurse have been having an affair at work. The doctor is married and has a large family. The nurse finds out she is pregnant and comes to the doctor's office to give him the news. How does he react?

Story 2.
A 16 year old girl is suddenly confronted by her mother with the news that she can no longer continue her studies but must go to the city to work for an aunt. How does she react?

Story 3.

The sports teacher asks a girl to stay behind after class he wants to discuss something with her. The teacher tells the girl: "You are very keen on football but it is not an appropriate sport for girls, you should consider taking another sport like volleyball." The girl disagrees. How does she react?

Story 4:
A girl, Jummai, asks a boy out on a date. The boy thinks she wants intercourse because she has asked him out. Jummai likes the boy but does not want intercourse. What do they say to each other?
