Goal of activityStudents describe various situations in which they need
help and the nature of the help.
Activity Guidelines
Step 1:
Divide students into small groups. Give each group one of the
scenarios below about a child in trouble.
Step 2:
The group should brainstorm the various places that the person in this situation might go for help. They should also answer the question of what kind of help is needed.
Step 3:
A few groups present their findings to the class.
Scenarios:
1. Tanko can’t live with his family any more because they no longer have a house. It was burned down and now the family just lives on the street.
2. Ada has an uncle who has been sexually molesting her. She thinks she may be pregnant.
3. Dayo lives at home with 9 brothers and sisters. There is no place for her to study for school and many days there is no food to eat.
Tip:
Teachers can create other scenarios that may help the students in their classes find help.
