Performance Objectives
Students should be able to:- Define puberty and adolescence
- Describe the differences and similarities at puberty between males and females
- Explain common feelings and behaviours during aldolescence.
- Identify means of coping with the problems of early or late puberty
- Discuss personal concerns about the changes that occur at puberty.
- Identify myths and facts about puberty.
Lesson Plan
- Start with the 'warm up'. This will take about 7 to 10 minutes.
- Then let the students read the information in the info-cartoon. Most students will be finished in 12 to 15 minutes.
- Then
do either the 'discuss' or the 'make' exercise. This will take about 20
to 30 minutes. If you have a double lesson you can do both the 'make'
and the 'discuss'.
- Round up the lesson with a reflection on what the students have learned.
If you do not have enough time in one lesson to do all these steps you can also give the 'make'or 'discuss' exercise as homework and spend any remaining time taking reactions or questions from students. - The 'game' is an optional computer exercise, which you can do if there is time left or for students to do alone.
